World Elder Abuse Awareness Day
In 2006, the International Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse declared June 15 June World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD). Five years later, the United Nation’s General Assembly officially recognised the day.
The goal of the World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, is to showcase all forms of abuse that seniors are subjected to and the raise attention of educational and legal tools that can be used to prevent the mistreatment of elders in society.
